10/10 album. One of, if not THE best album ever made.

It is simply an iconic masterpiece. To write a full actual review that would be worth someone’s time to read in order to convince them of the album’s quality? I wouldn’t know where to start...

The Beatles at their best both musically and with George Martin’s spectacular production. A stunning example of a theme album beautifully executed. Never get tired of hearing it.

Dude, just get it and turn off your mind, relax and float down stream.
  • Horribly dated in 2018

Lyrics sound silly today, like children’s gibberish. Production dated and psychedelic nonsense sounds like a hangover. Immature & pretentious. “Fun is the one thing that money can’t buy.” Really? But “Within Without You” still worth a listen as is A Day in the Life.

Up until this point, The Beatles have been pretty consistent with writing love songs with the occasional experimental stuff. That all changed with Sgt. Pepper. Here the Beatles are no longer touring, they have mustaches, John has glasses, and most importantly their music is so much more rooted in psychedelia then ever. Sgt. Pepper is such a rocking opening track. Lucy in the Sky is so psychedelic and the lyrics are crazy. Getting Better has always been a favorite of mine. Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite's fairground theme is awesome. Lovely Rita is a rare love song on the album. Good Morning Good Morning is such a great UNDERRATED rocker. And A Day in the Life is my 2nd favorite Beatles song, after In My Life. Such a great game changing album.
  • A Work of Art

You must listen to this album from beginning to end, listening to the words & music, and take an incredible journey through the renaissance of music occurring at that time. Each song flows into the next with such perfection that you feel you are part of the show! My only regret is that Strawberry Fields Forever & Penny Lane were not included on the album..... After years of touring through the tornado of Beatlemania, The Beatles finally had time to spend many months in the studio working on and perfecting their craft. Sgt.Pepper is proof of the natural talent born in to 4 young men. They added numerous instruments and sounds that were never heard before heard in rock music. I must say that the album really blew everyone away when it was released. Innovative, new, artistic and truly a work of art, it has inspired musicians through the 21st century. And, you couldn't get a better closing song than A Day in the Life. It won the Grammy award for that year.
